Exhibition Tour Guide (The Hold)

We have an exciting exhibition programme at The Hold which explores the fascinating stories and records from our archives. Our current exhibition is Pride in Suffolk's Past - an exhibition dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community past and present. 

We want you to lead groups of visitors on guided tours around our exhibition. You will be explaining the exhibition content in more depth, sharing extra interesting stories about the people and items featured, and encouraging visitors to fully engage with the interpretation. 

Guided tours will take place on Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings from the 19th May to the 30th June. You can choose to whether you would like to deliver the tour with a partner or conduct the tour solo. You can view the specifc dates here:

Travel expenses can be reimbursed and specialist in-depth training will be provided by our Exhibitions and Interpretations Officer. 

What's involved?

  • Taking a private group around the exhibition, highlighting interesting quirks about documents or objects.
  • Enhancing the exhibition content with extra stories from research. 
  • Communicating enthusiastically and communicating clearly. 
  • Keeping to the 40/45 minute time slot for the guided tour.
  • Being on hand after the tour to answer questions.

  3. Await a response from Suffolk Archives with more information.
