Regular Help

Gardening Volunteer

Here at Suffolk Archives we have a physic garden outside the north entrance of The Hold in Ipswich. The raised beds have a variety of herbs, flowers and plants that were used for medicinal purposes in the past. Alongside the raised beds, we also have borders and small lawns around the building to maintain. Whether it is getting rid of weeds, mowing the grass, or planting something new, there are plenty of ways you can help us keep our garden and grounds looking their best!

What's involved?

Working closely with the Exhibition and Interpretation Officer and as part of a team you will:

  • Maintain the garden and grounds.
  • Work closely with other volunteers to keep on top of the tasks.
  • Equipment will be provided, but please bring your own gloves, suncream/rain mac!
  • We hope to build a regular team of volunteers who come in weekly.

Why get involved?

  • Travel expenses are funded.
  • The satisfaction of maintaining a garden.
