Work on a project

Pride in Suffolk's Past Communications Volunteer

Our Pride in Suffolk's Past project is researching LGBTQ+ stories from Suffolk's past, and collecting contemporary stories reflecting on the monumental societal changes of recent years. The project will culminate with an exhibition at our new building, The Hold, in spring 2020.

We are looking for a Communications Volunteer who can help us spread the message far and wide about the activities of the project and the upcoming exhibition.

What's involved?

Working with our Marcomms Officer and Community and Learning Officers, we need a volunteer to:

  • Prepare engaging social media content about the project and exhibition
  • Liaise with relevant organisations and community groups to keep them in the loop with project developments
  • Encourage more people to contribute their stories
  • Work with the Marcomms Officer to prepare content for press releases and media features

Why get involved?

  • Develop new practical skills, or use your existing experience
  • Opportunities to be creative
  • Actively contribute to high profile exhibitions and displays
  • Work with unique records from Suffolk Archives collection and fascinating stories
  • Help make sure as many people as possible have the opportunity to engage with this project

How to get involved?

  1. Sign into your account or sign up to Volunteer Makers.
  2. Accept the challenge.
  3. Await a response from Suffolk Archives with more information.
